Complete the Brainstorm Exercise to Develop a concept that is Profitable and Uniquely Yours!!

Step 1.
Take Ten Minutes to Inventory What You Do (And Hopefully Like to Do) Best

Time: 10 minutes only

  • Make a list of the following:
    » The jobs you've had
» The hobbies you have, or would like to have
» The personal interests you have
  • Don't get deep, just write. Write down those ideas and don't think about them. We'll get to that later.
  • High profit ideas can be found with a little fishing. Don't think too hard, just write it down. And limit yourself to 10 minutes.
Step 2. What Areas Could Yield High Profits?

Time: 10 minutes only

  • Take each item from Step 1 and ask:
» What are the major problems facing people interested in this subject?
» What are the important goals that people interested in this subject would like to achieve?

Do this as quickly as possible, 10 minutes only.
Step 3. Picking the Ideas with the Most Profits
Let's start judging what you wrote. Which ideas are worth your time and which are wastes of time?

Go back through your list from
Step 1. Ask two questions of each:

1. Can I write about the solutions or goals these people want to achieve?

People who write about something based on their own experience put out more interesting materials than "experts". Don't think of yourself as an expert, can you simply write their goals and solutions from experience? If you can, customers will pay for it. The real challenge is to provide a new twist to the subject that no one else has.

2. Can I create information products/services (Web sites are among these) to supply others already in this field?

If you can't create a new twist, maybe you can supply those already in the field. The people who make the most money from the Gold Rush aren't the gold miners, it's the people selling them the tools to mine with.

3. Can I interview a recognized expert in this field?

The easiest way to create a product, sales letter, or marketing report is to interview. Record it via telephone and get in transcribed. Take a hand held recorder and have someone type it up. Use it to email, as bonuses, or sell the product. Get six experts and you can create a whole new look at things!
Steps 1 and 2 are for letting your ideas go. Use Step 3 to sort your ideas, check them out. Do this for yourself and work with a partner. Make sure you are honest in Step 3 and take only those ideas that are workable, throw out the rest.
